Destination Overview

Stunningly situated on 2,800 rolling acres at the base of the beautiful Texas Hill Country, just minutes away from Austin, TPC San Antonio is the perfect destination for your next golf getaway. Opened in 2010, it features 36 holes of superb golf designed by two of the sport’s most innovative architects, Pete Dye and Greg Norman. Both courses play host to TOUR events with Dye’s AT&T Oaks Course serving as the venue for the PGA TOUR’s Valero Texas Open, while Norman’s AT&T Canyons course is the site of the Champions Tour stop, the AT&T Championship.

As a private resort, TPC San Antonio is only accessible to club members and guests of the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa. In addition to outstanding golf, it includes a 26,000-square-foot spa, over 140,000 square feet of indoor meeting space and three spectacular outdoor venues, seven unique dining options to tempt your palette, a six-acre pool and river experience, plus tennis, bicycling and walking trails. At TPC San Antonio, it’s your unforgettable opportunity to stay and play like a champion.

About the Area

With its year-round perfect weather, celebrated monuments of Texas history, lush landscapes and modern-day attractions, San Antonio is the most visited city in Texas and one of the top tourist destinations in the country. San Antonio’s Spanish roots date back to 1718, and the city’s rich heritage is reflected in beautifully preserved historic buildings like the Spanish Governor’s Palace and San Fernando Cathedral, and at the missions of Concepcion, San José, Espada, San Juan Capistrano and, of course, the world-famous Alamo.

The city’s Texas Hill Country is filled with charming towns settled by European immigrants and a burgeoning wine scene, perfect for an afternoon of wine tasting. For art lovers, San Antonio has dozens of public museums, private galleries, theaters and a vibrant music and performing arts community. And for nature lovers, no visit to the city would be complete without visits to the Natural Bridge Caverns, San Antonio Botanical Garden—a 35-acre natural oasis in the middle of the city—and the spectacular River Walk, a veritable urban sanctuary along the San Antonio River.

With so much to see and do, you’re bound to work up quite an appetite in the cradle of Tex-Mex. Satisfy your palate with local specialties, or dine at one of the hundreds of Spanish, Italian, Japanese, German, Vietnamese or Indian restaurants. Be sure to also stop by the Culinary Institute of America, the nation’s premier culinary college, for the latest in modern fare or to take a cooking class of your own. No matter how you choose to spend your days and nights, a Texas-sized adventure awaits you in San Antonio.

The Courses

AT&T Canyons

Working with PGA TOUR player consultant Bruce Lietzke, Pete Dye crafted the par-72, 7,406-yard AT&T Canyons Course in the old style, keeping the terrain completely natural. Numerous environmental elements distinct to the Texas Hill Country were incorporated into the course design, with Dye’s signature wide fairways, stately stands of oak and cedar trees, and panoramic views of the adjacent Cibolo Canyons creating a breathtakingly beautiful and enjoyable challenge for scratch golfers and novices alike.

AT&T Oaks

Current PGA TOUR player Sergio Garcia lent his unique perspective in assisting celebrated golfer and renowned golf course architect Greg Norman with the design of the par-72, 7,522-yard AT&T Oaks Course. Like Dye, Norman’s design philosophy is underscored by environmental sensitivity and a deep reverence for nature. Great care has been taken to incorporate the distinct nuances and indigenous flora of the natural Hill Country topography into the course design, to create a compelling, strategically diverse and strikingly beautiful course for golfers of all skill levels.
