The Straits Course

Open, rugged and windswept terrain defines the walking-only, links-style Straits course sculpted along two miles of Lake Michigan shoreline. A masterpiece in the world of golf created by Pete Dye, The Straits at Whistling Straits® was ranked #4 in Golf Digest’s 2017/2018 America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses, #5 in GolfWeek’s 2017 Best Resort Courses, #22 in Golf Digest’s 2017/2018 America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses, and #51 in Golf Digest’s 2016/2017 World’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses.

The Irish Course

Just inland from the great lake and interspersed by four meandering streams, the grassland-and-dunes aspect of the Irish course is a deceivingly tranquil landscape. Both traditional and memorable, the Irish course is full of unique challenges.

The Irish at Whistling Straits® was ranked #35 in GolfWeek’s 2017 Best Resort Courses and #45 in Golf Digest’s 2017/2018 America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses.

The River Course

Intimidating to the professional, fair and dramatic for the amateur, this “beauty of the beast” measures 7,404 from the back tees with a slope of 151. Target landing areas, strategic bunkering, large undulating greens, and water or gorges on 14 of the 18 holes characterize the challenge of this championship course. The playing values of the River course are a match for its natural beauty.

Ranking #15 in Golf Digest’s 2019/2020 America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses and #22 in GolfWeek’s 2018 Best Resort Courses. GOLF Magazine says this course “must be considered the nation’s finest public-access course of modern times.”

The Meadow Valleys Course

Described as both subtle and devilish, it winds through meadows and charges across ravines, reflecting the natural features of the Wisconsin terrain. This championship course challenges even the experts to weigh the relative advantages of distance and accuracy, though staggered tees put much of the danger out of harm’s way for the average golfer.

The Meadow Valleys was ranked #57 in Golf Digest’s ranking of America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses for 2019/2020.
